Description
I’m starting to make a 3D sandbox game with a female protagonist and management mechanics. For some time now, while I’m still mulling over the core concept (I haven’t even come up with a title yet), I’ve been trying to implement features that I’ll be adding anyway, regardless of where my thoughts on the plot and final gameplay end up. These include a character editor, movement, physics (which doesn’t look quite right yet…), and various interactions to enhance immersion. The current working concept is a game where you play as the owner of a struggling hotel, doing everything in your power (and not just your own) to turn it into a profitable business (or whorehouse) + some side activities. I’m not chasing ultra-realistic graphics, massive open worlds and so on. I don’t want to overcomplicate the project. For now, the plan is to have * a few medium-sized locations, with transitions between them via loading screens. * several story characters and randomly generated NPCs (visitors). I have enough experience with a lot of gamedev things, but the biggest challenge for me is character design. That’s why I’m looking for options. At first, I used makehuman, but the models are too lowpoly even for my standards. The latest version of the main character was provided by a potential 3D artist I hope to collaborate with but without textures... so I painted them with my talents... He also promised to create better textures later, but he doesn’t want to work for peanuts… so that’s kind of difficult for now. P.S. the video on TV is an AI placeholder to test the feature. No Ai assets are planned at all.
