Throughout my time here, I’ve noticed that a lot of people seem to dislike or even hate Boom the Ghost. Nothing good is ever said about it when brought up. Which really confuses me, because when I played it was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Now, maybe that has something to do with when I played it: I joined Nikke in the summer last year, and Boom the Ghost was my first event. I didn‘t know any of the characters in the event, in the main story I hadn’t even met Chatterbox, and I didn’t know about the Archive. But still, the event still hit for me. Even without knowing who Dorothy or Pinne were- I could feel the attachment Dorothy had to her and how she couldn’t let go. I enjoyed Rapi and Dorothy’s relationship, and I could see how jealous Dorothy was over Rapi getting a proper goodbye. The overall story of the Utopia was great, I enjoyed the little mystery at the start of if they were actual ghosts or not ( I highkey thought they were since I didn’t know anything about the verse really). I enjoyed the supporting characters like Elegg and Yan. The soundtrack was good too. The Yan and Pepper scene was my first moment of neuron activation. Personally, I’d say it’s just behind Beauty Full Shot as my favorite summer event. So, I’m curious to know why this event seems so widely disliked? Is it for valid reason or petty ones? I don’t personally see any immediate and glaring flaws with it. Though I did think it was a bit silly everyone (Dorothy as an exception) was so conflicted over using the BFG on a damn hologram.
