So I was just checking out my Outpost, and this line from Sakura (look how cute she is) caught my attention- “Apparently there is a court here, but in name only. Any semblance of justice in this place rests in your own hands”. Now this could just be Sakura exaggerating a bit and my overthinking, but regardless I feel like it serves as a kickoff to an interesting discussion point: What is the law within the Outpost? And on a larger scale, does it essentially function as its own district, with the Commander as the head? Disclaimer: I haven’t played every bond story or every Outpost encounter or every event, so if there‘s something I question that gets answered please let me know. The Outpost has to be a pretty big place- it’s got whole amusement parks, shopping malls, giant theater, and other various building and business. It’s basically mini-town. And Nikkes of their respective squads run these businesses. In order for the buildings to be built of course the Commander’s approval is needed. But beyond this, how many processes is he involved in? Getting supplies for these businesses from the Ark? Placement? Circling back to the title, does the Commander actually decide the law within the Outpost? There’s a courthouse, but it wasn’t always there- all the buildings in the Outpost were likely built over a much longer period than in gameplay. If there’s some kind of crime, like a robbery or a murder, does the Commander have the final say once the perpetrator is caught? I’d assume the Outpost has the same laws as the Ark, but can the Commander add new ones? If so, what kind of laws do you think he’d add? I ask all this because the whole reason the Commander was sent to the Outpost was because it was out of sight of the CG- to keep him safe in the early chapters. Obviously thats a bit irrelevant now since he’s a celebrity now. But unless there’s some info I’m missing, SKK is basically the head of his own mini-town, most of the businesses being run by Nikkes. Interesting to think about in my opinion.
